Green Cave Tour – Croatia

Vacation always brings along a wish to escape from the routine boredom and after our first stop at the blue caves I had developed a liking towards caves so our second stop was the Green Cave.

After seeing the blue cave I was very inquisitive about the green cave as I had guessed yes the water was green.

The light effects at the Green Cave were similar in experience to the Blue Cave. As told by our captain, the water appears green because the green algae.

Small private boats

The entry way was a little larger than the blue cave. We had to wait for while to pass into the cave because usually people swim there. The site is reached by the small boat which is then anchored at the cave entrance.

As we were waiting out we could see a gal and a guy climbing the cave…to be frank I was hell scared but I suppose they were experts.

Finally our boat started moving in to the tiny opening and then we are there inside the cave and peace inside this cave is magical, it took my breath away… I’ve never seen anything like it! You get into the dark cave and then, suddenly around the bend, you see there is electric green light coming from the bottom of the water.

It was a coolest attraction. The opening in the ceiling of the rock at top allows the sunlight to penetrate into the cave’s interior, creating a concentrated ray that creates a magical effect in the green waters.

It’s was so impressive that, as our boatman said, it would be ideal if all entered only to admire and not be taking pictures, but I confess that it is impossible not to want to record every moment of this experience. This lasted only for few minutes again which was sad but I was more excited for our next stop….:)

My paternal grandparents had called Croatia home till they migrated to America in the early 1900s. Up till now, it was just a name on a map. Your travelogue’s / travel-blog’s descriptive words, vids and stunning photography brought everything to life for this armchair traveler, who won’t likely ever see this land, firsthand. I thank you!

Like I remember a comment from my closest friend…Not all girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Some girls are made of adventure, fine beer and and no fear, with person you as a friend there is never a dead end.
I am touched to read about the armchair thing. Trust me everybody in world is disabled in different way, some emotional some financial too..but a good and true heart is something that defines us.
